Braided line

Braided line

Braided line is becoming more and more popular, first for predatory fishing and later also for other fisheries. Braided line is literally a line that is braided from multiple plastic fibers. This provides the two most important characteristics, namely extremely strong and no stretch. Because there is no elongation in it, you can feel every little bite of the fish, even at long distances. Braided line also has a much higher tensile strength than nylon in the same diameter.
Doesn't that have any disadvantages? Of course there are, sometimes stretch is handy and braided line is also less abrasion resistant than nylon.

For predatory anglers braided line is almost indispensable, especially for casting lures. It allows you to precisely steer the lure and feel every bite. Use a striking color so you can see where the line is. The colour changes under water so don't be afraid it will chase away the fish.

Braided line for carp anglers has the advantage that every bite is registered. That's why you often see carp anglers who fish from a great distance and sail their line with the dinghy or baitboat with braided line. It also cuts easily through water plants, so you are not easily stuck. Because of the long line it is a lot more expensive compared to nylon, fortunately braided line lasts much longer.

People often think that dyneema is another word for braided line, but dyneema is a special, patented fiber that is braided by a large manufacturer. Fortunately we have this in our assortment. You can see it in the Berkley Fireline and Spiderwire lines.

Please note; braided lines can be very sharp when under tension, which can cut fish, bite detectors or your own fingers.
Never fished with braided line before? Give it a try and you'll understand why it's so popular!
