Throwing sticks, bait spoons & sling shots

To make a bait spot or to put extra bait around your rig, there are different tools for manual feeding with different possibilities. If you do not want to do it manually, then a bait boat or a spod is recommended. The most familiar products for manual feeding are the throwing stick, bait spoon and catapult. Which tool is most suitable for you can be read below.

A throwing stick is used to get boilies at large distances at the feeding spot. You can use a throwing stick to either feed very accurate or spread it all over the place. Make sure that the throwing stick is large enough for the size of boilies that you fish with and that the throwing stick is not too heavy.

A bait spoon is very easy to use for casting particles on short distances or very scattered from the boat. By using a bait spoon you will not get dirty hands when you have flavoured your particles or boilies.

The slingshot or catapult is ideal for feeding on medium to large distances. Once you have mastered it, you can very accurately feed with it. A catapult is very versatile. You can get boilies, particles and maggots on the spot, so it is also very suitable for small food or bait. Note that the basket of the catapult differs for each type of bait.
