If you want to be sheltered while fishing during the day or stay on the waterfront for a short while, a brolly or umbrella is the best option. They are both super fast to set up and offer enough shelter for a short period. The fishing umbrella and oval are very similar, but there is one big difference. The fishing umbrella is fixed in the ground with one pole and provides protection against rain and / or the sun when sitting in a chair.
If you have a bedchair with you or sit next to each other with 2 chairs, then an oval brolly offers the most and best shelter. A brolly does not have a pole or it has a detachable pole in the middle, but on the sides it is supported by storm poles and fastens with pegs, also called bivvy pegs. The convenience of an oval is therefore also suitable for night fishing.
If a brolly does not provide sufficient shelter yet, you can still use it in combination with an overwrap. Pay attention to whether the overwrap has the same size as the oval.
